    Employment/Internship Opportunities

    Student Internships

Interns DO NOT necessarily need to work at SDSC/UCSD. Intern applicants from other institutions will be considered, providing they have access to a workstation and Internet connectivity at their host institutions. Currently, I am looking for students who have prior knowledge of or would like to learn:

    • SQL Databases (MySQL, MS Access)
    • Java/Javascript programming
    • PERL programming (cgi, graphics, parsing tools, etc.)
    • Web server administration and programming

Interns do not necessarily need to be computer science majors, although all applicants are expected to have basic knowledge and experience with MacOS, Wintel or UNIX systems. Students with UNIX experience are especially encouraged to apply. Please write to the curator above for more information on the CMSMBR project and the specific internship projects.

The primary criteria for these positions is a DESIRE to learn.

To apply, send an email to the curator above. Include a short summary (no more than one page) explaining why you would like the internship, what you expect to learn, and perhaps highlighting any past computer experience (Note: the later is not required!). Also email as an attachment a current resume, which should include your undergraduate institution, major, and expected year of graduation.

    Current Version (v.6.3.5) Notes

    • Mirror services have been discontinued. Advances in network technology and the now ubiquitous nature of high-bandwidth Internet connectivitely has for the most part made mirrors obsolete. For intranet mirroring, please contact the curator.

    • CMSMBR will be undergoing a major content and categorization revision in the second quarter of 2002.

    Web Server & Database Specifications

SDSC web pages, including the CMSMBR pages are served from a SUN workstation, using Netscape Enterprise Web Server, and administered by Joshua Polterock (WebMaster, Senior Programmer/Analyst). We currently use MOMspider for functional links validation.

CMSMBR Web Usage Statistics at SDSC

Web usage statistics for CMSMBR pages served from SDSC were compiled using the WUSAGE web stats application. They are available for your perusal. Please note: The statistics displayed represent only data from ONE web site (at SDSC). Compiled statistics for the other 17 sites; 15 Internet and 2 Intranet mirrors are unavailable.
